Music4Life String Orchestra is dedicated to cultivating the art of live string music throughout the Durham Region. Since 2016, we have been providing an inter-community, cross-demographic, multi-stakeholder program that offers several social and economic benefits for our Community.

We engage amateur string players, across all ages and all skill levels, to learn and perform in a welcoming and friendly orchestral environment

We employ music professionals as our conductor and section leaders to lead our program and perform with us for all rehearsals, concerts and community performances

We second professional musicians as guest artists for our concerts to bring multi-genres talent and quality entertainment to our community

We bring community members together through our public concerts

We partner with local charities through joint benefit concerts to raise money for segments of the community that are underprivileged or experience social or racial barriers

We offer a volunteer program for high school students to earn their mandatory OSSD volunteer hours

We supply music entertainment for local retirement homes, LTCs and community living residences

We supply music entertainment for city-hosted and community events
